Hello and welcome to another week of Fibonacci Sequence! Today we learnt that spirals are actually a Fibonacci Sequence. If you do not understand here is a picture:

Here is our picture that we drew on the Fibonacci spiral:

We also found a website when you can see the Fibonacci number for example: I would type in the 100th number and then it would show the 100th number. To type the number you want type it in the box From i= then click show series.
Below is the website and here is a picture of the website just so you know that that is the right website to go on.

Hello everyone! Welcome to today's post.
Today we did another week of our High Interest stations. Today we either had a choice between 3D drawing with Darryn, Fibonacci Sequence Maths with Alana, or Science with Katie. I chose to do 3D drawing with Darryn but since there were not many people in the Maths group I decided to step in. So next week I am going to do 3D drawing since that is what I chose in the first place.
Anyway lets get back to Fibonacci:
Here is an example of what I learnt:
1,1,3,5,8,13,21,34,55.
So what you do is you go 0+1=1 then you go 1+1=1, next you go 1+2=3 and you keep adding your last two numbers. Fibonacci got the highest number of 465 digits!!!!!!
I bet he couldn't even say the number because it was so big! Only my guess of course.
We also learnt that cows have babies when they are one years old. Here is our diagram that we made to help us all understand:

Until next time,
See you later!!!!

Dinoscope

Aren't I pest!!!! I can't help myself but to carry on talking about Biology.

On the subject Biology, ask yourself this question: Is a fly an insect?

Answer: Yes because an insect has to have six legs and 3 body parts. The three body parts are thorax, head and adomen.

Here is my poster or comic that I made about the Dinoscope. I hope you like it!!!!! Some of the things are gross but some are really cool like the denim and the computer sound speaker.
Until next time.... See you next week.

Yuck Flies

Hello everyone!!!                                        Flies Wing:
For our high interest activities we had a choice of doing... Cartoon Drawing with Katie, Biology Dinoscopes with Darryn or Chemistry with Jenni. Since I had worked with Darryn before with the Dinoscope I decided to continue with that because I thought it was quite spectacular. I wish we did not have to look at FLIES on the Dinoscope because it was absolutely disgraceful and revolting. Darryn caught some House flies and he brought them along today so we could look at them. Darryn said we had to crunch up the fly. I decided that I would do it with the Dinoscope because I would never in my life touch a fly or even a dead fly.                                  Stapler:
The Inside of a bug (my guess):
So anyway, I crunched up the fly and then put the dinoscope up to 200 so I could see the fly up close clearly. Then I decided to look at the flies wings. They looked amazing up close and you would never think they would look like that if you look at a fly!!!! Then since I was at the middle of my book I looked at the staple. What a sight!!!! I don't know if it is disgusting or cool so I will let you decide on that!!! This other boy found an alive spider. GROSS!!! When you actually looked at it far away it was just a tiny speck and you could not even see it moving. When we looked at it with the dinoscope it was sooooooo big. I got so afraid that it would be on my book as well!!! And then I was stupid enough to think that a live spider was on my computer mouse because I felt something but it was actually just a piece of fluff. How stupid am I!!!!!  Darryn thought I had got an electric shot, I was so embarrassed after that. here are some photo's that I took which I will show you. (The photo's are up above!)

Teacher Comment

Hi Clara
Your impressionist artwork has turned our really well!  You followed the steps as shown in the tutorial to help with this technique.  I really liked the colour of your pond today - you used lots of different colours, but you blended it on the canvas which created that blurred look really well!  You also had lots of great ideas for our group environment projects today.  I can’t wait to see how your movie promoting Invercargill turns out.  You made great use of your time today Clara - well done!  Katie.
